2014 World Championship Re-Cap

(Team picture with Mentors and 2014 Robot Atlas)

We would like to thank all of our sponsors for yet another close to our robotics season. This concludes our 10th year as Team THRUST 1501, since starting as a rookie team in 2005. Returning from the World Championship was tough for 1501 this year, as random alliance pairing for qualification seeding made it difficult for our three team alliance to win rounds. Our final record was 2 wins – 8 losses. Our robot worked wonderful well all weekend long with only a single misfire in autonomous mode, and a sheared bolt on the arm one round, but despite a couple of small hiccups, the robot, the team performance, was absolutely top notch. However, we could have used a little more four clover luck to win some more matches!

In the end, the students received much mentoring from the adults, and they are one step closer to bettering themselves for real world opportunities. After all, that’s why we do the math.

We look forward to attending the Indiana State Championship May 10th, in Elkhart this year hoping to have a close to an otherwise, excellent robotics season.
More information can be found here about attending the Indiana State Championship as a spectator.

We even had some fun, Team 447 Roboto from Anderson, Indiana pranked us by decorating our pit…lovely…the “geek” war is on.
