2009 NI Controller - Been There, Done That…

Even though the official 2009 season kick off is still over a month away, that doesn’t keep the electrical and programming students away from learning as much as they can about the 2009 controller changes this year. Right now in the shop, SideWinder II received an upgrade with the National Instruments cRio controller. The new Jaguar controllers are mounted in the back. Apparently there is so much stuff to mount, electronics have exploded out of the original shell design of 2005. If your interested in helping out, shoot us an e-mail. We’ll hook you up where the action is located.

NASA & BAE Sponsors Team THRUST 1501

NASA has once again awarded our team with a 2009 robotics sponsorship worth $6,000. We can’t thank NASA enough for sponsoring our team this year when times are trialing for our world economy. Their sponsorship was used to pay in full our participation in the 2009 Boilermaker Regional event held at Purdue University March 19-21, 2009.

Along with NASA this year Team THRUST has also partnered with BAE Systems in Fort Wayne. BAE helps our team with engineering mentors both in marketing and software engineering. BAE engineers have also helped develop a C++ software programming platform for all the teams to use this coming 2009 season. We are so thankful for our sponsors that we partner with: Wabash Technologies (past eight year sponsor), UT Electronic Controls, Indiana Workforce Development, PHD Inc, Henline Towing Inc, ASQ, and new this year NASA and BAE Systems. Our sponsors provide employment for our community youth after college graduation and summer internships.
