I am happy to report that our police robot team was very successful in tonight’s proposal meeting in seeking approval of the police robot. There are a couple of bells and whistles that was asked for.
1. The ability to raise and lower the torso about 24-36 inches.
2. The ability to turn the torso 90 degrees and back to straight again.
These are easy design modifications that will be simple to incorporate. Our marketing anchor Gracie will next be busy with writing up a proposal grant for the police robot funding. This is all great news for the team.

A new marketing group has formed on our team. A charge lead by Sondra and Gracie.
Their Facebook group describes them as:
“A new group specifically for the marketing team of frc 1501. The marketing team covers t-shirts, logo, overall team image, the pit makeover, publicity(including fliers, posters, press releases, etc), and team networking at events.”
I kind of feel weird posting my own news, but last night at the Kokomo Indiana FIRST leaders meeting something weird happened. I was nominated to be the president for Indiana FIRST.
Some of the items on the TO DO list this year are:
Fix the Indiana FIRST website: www.indianafirst.org
Indiana FIRST license plates
Incorporate the organization and gain 503c status
Resource sharing bulk buying idea
Invite teams out of state to attend Kokomo forums
Investigate something for Indiana like Michigan is doing in 2009
Some kind of event Calendar on the website
Publish the present, and past Indiana FIRST officer minutes.
Publish and update bylaws
Interesting stuff, and I feel a bit nervous, but at the same time honored to try and serve all 27 teams in Indiana as well as be your 2009 Team T.H.R.U.S.T team President. I may need a zantac before it’s over.
Well one thing if you didn’t know already was a HUGH leap into trying to establish an image for the team. There is a small committee of people that have formed a charge and here is just a little taste of their work.
